I choose to search for the term Leo Laporte and as I use google for 95% of my searches it was the engine of choice. The result was as follows:

Leo Laporte returned 1,120,000 results and the first result was http://leoville.com/

Google

After I finished with google I used Copernic Web Search with the same phrase. The first thing I noticed was the amount of results returned and how low it was at 54. Interestingly it returned the same first search result and it did not mention google as one of the search engine it used to find the listing. I found the results for google were better for what I was searching for, why? No results from the same site in the top 5 and the results were more up to date.

A next conducted the Boolean search task, using the same terms and google to complete search. The search type this the most entries was leo OR laporte with 104,000,000 listings which far outweighed any other search I conducted. Using google you can't use AND as an operator, but you can enclose the terms in " " and get the same result. This gave me the best result and returned 835,000 results. To get sites for just universities I used the operator site:edu which limited my search to results from sites that had a domain that was edu. .edu domains are only available to educational institutions so this was a perfect result. This result in 511 listing which was also the fewest number by large amount.
